Job Description
This in-patient psychiatric social worker position provides case management, psychoeducation, and therapeutic support to patients in an inpatient psychiatric unit. The role involves working with the Nursing and psychiatrists to facilitate patient recovery and stability. The position requires collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, acute care experiences, and adherence to legal requirements.
Requirements
- Develop and coordinate individualized discharge plans
- Administer biopsychosocial assessments
- Conduct family therapy and discharge planning sessions
- Attend treatment team meetings
- Report to community/state agencies
- Manage legal holds (5150, 5250, 5270)
- Knowledge of acute mental health diagnoses
