Director, Institutional Giving

The Director of Institutional Giving leads and directs all grant related activities and revenue goal achievement in a fast-paced entrepreneurial nonprofit. The non-profit journalism field has transformed rapidly in recent decades. SCPR is looking for a proactive development professional energized by philanthropic opportunities in the changing nonprofit media sector, ready to learn, and eager to collaborate across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
• Minimum eight (8) years development experience in securing significant grants from corporations, foundations and/or government institutions
• Minimum ten (10) years of management, departmental strategic and annual planning and leading teams to achieve results
• Experience building strong relationships with major regional and national foundations; proven success in building relationships with new funders resulting in funding support
• Demonstrated track record in producing excellent written materials and successful solicitations, resulting in consistently winning six figure-plus grants
• Previous experience in researching and identifying major new funding prospects
• Significant financial and budget management experience and skills
• Prior experience managing a talented team; demonstrated ability to recruit and develop staff with high standards, demonstrating an ability to coach, inspire and lead
