Job Description
We are seeking a Principal Data Engineer to conceptualize and construct Big Data / Analytics / AI platforms, as well as to deploy and scale data pipelines. This role involves leading projects, creating data models, selecting technology stacks, and building expertise within the company. The ideal candidate will be a data specialist with a strong background in data engineering.
Requirements
- Successfully completed computer science, information technology or data engineering degree or equivalent qualification
- At least 6 years of full-time employment experience as a Data Engineer in conception and implementation of data platforms or similar field
- At least 5 years of practical application of common programming languages (Python, Scala, SQL) and developers tools (bspw, GIT)
- At least 4 years of experience in handling various cloud components (AWS, Azure, GCP) including security, scheduling, operations, and monitoring
- Experience with at least one of the following technologies: Databricks/Snowflake/AWS Sagemaker/Azure Synapse
- Experience with IaC tools like Terraform, AWS CDK
- Experience with UNIX systems and network configuration
