Welding COE Mechanical Designer

Aecon Group Inc. is seeking a Welding COE Mechanical Designer to support the welding initiatives of the Aecon Nuclear Centre of Excellence (COE) department. The COE is responsible for developing, administering, and maintaining welding programs, providing project support, and conducting R&D. Requirements

• Completes mechanical design efforts related to welding, automation, fabrication and construction tasks
• Assist in developing, troubleshooting, designing, testing and training with various types of welding tooling and/or equipment
• Tracking the day-to-day operations within the COE welding facility with respect to deliverable obligations
• Inputting purchase requisition data to procure custom tooling and equipment
• Interface with vendors to clarify and provide technical feedback/input during procurement
• Generate project status reports for internal management and for customers
• Perform R&D, proposal work and supporting business development/proposals initiatives
• Must possess valid G driver's license and have access to a vehicle
• Willingness for continuous learning and advancement of technical knowledge
