Commis I

Accor is seeking a Commis I to join their team in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The Commis I will be responsible for organizing mise-en-place production and service, taking orders from the Chef de Partie, and maintaining good relations with Heartists. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, and strong culinary skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school degree preferred
• 1-2 years of experience in a similar role in a five-star hotel
• Food Safety Certification required
• Proficiency in knife skills and operation of standard kitchen equipment
• Basic understanding of food cost control and inventory management
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively
• Passion for culinary arts and commitment to continuous learning
• Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in food preparation
