Summer Day Camp Counselor, Mitch Park YMCA

We are looking for a Summer Day Camp Counselor to provide a safe and welcoming environment for kids in the community to reach their full potential. This is a fun and energetic role that requires positive interaction with children and includes planning activities and maintaining a clean camp site.

Requirements

• Assist with supervising a safe and well-organized childcare program
• Plan and participate in group activities with children
• Establish a positive relationship with each child
• Develop positive relationships with parents and staff
• Develop weekly activities for a group of 12 children
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children
• Lead games and activities
• Maintain appearance of camp through cleanliness and set-up
• Take daily attendance and see that each child is signed in and out by a responsible party each day
• Actively engage children and participants in activities
• Prepare and distribute USDA and HEPA approved snacks and/or meals to participants
• Perform daily count of meals and snacks served
• Report all injuries and incidences to the Director or Coordinator
• Display YMCA character values (Honesty, caring, respect, and responsibilities at all times)
• Required to Swim at least two times per week

Benefits

• Starting rate of $12.00 per hour with potential to receive more based on responsibilities
