The Lead Teacher is responsible for administering child care programs at designated YMCA program sites, creating and implementing lesson plans, maintaining site records, and ensuring state licensure compliance.
Requirements
- Maintain safety of children by appropriately supervising program participants at all times
- Implement age-appropriate techniques relative to the behavior management of children
- Plan, develop, and implement appropriate lesson plans and activities
- Complete and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports
- Maintain a file system that will include all policies, school year schedules, ODJFS child day care rules, child enrollment information and staff files
- Provide coverage of program as needed and arrange for substitute instructors
- Notify supervisor of any parent concerns or unsafe conditions at center
- Communicate with supervisor regarding center operations
- Ensure daily cleaning and maintenance of space/facility
- Work with supervisor on promotional activities and flyers
- Work with supervisor to develop and distribute site informational newsletters to parents
- Follow YMCA and state quality guidelines in operating site
- Develop and maintain positive communication with parents
- Develop and implement family activities/events
- Represent YMCA by developing positive working relationships with program participants and parents
