Vehicle Controls Software Engineer

Xos is seeking a Vehicle Controls Software Engineer to help design, develop, and validate control software for our next generation electric vehicle platforms. This role involves defining software requirements, implementing and testing control algorithms, and preparing technical documentation with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and reliability.

Requirements

• Define, interpret, and refine vehicle control system requirements, ensuring alignment with performance, safety, and compliance goals.
• Design, implement, and integrate embedded control algorithms for electric powertrain and vehicle systems using model-based development tools (MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow).
• Develop and execute system-level tests on HIL benches, simulators, and actual vehicles to validate control logic, and software performance.
• Create comprehensive documentation for control software design, implementation, and testing to meet internal standards and regulatory requirements.
• Review and assess the impact of software changes, participating in design and requirement reviews to ensure system-level consistency and reliability.
