Principal Data Engineer

XO Health is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to lead the development and implementation of advanced data solutions to optimize operations and deliver impactful insights for business and customers. The successful candidate will oversee a team of data engineers, architects, and analysts building a robust data infrastructure and leveraging cutting-edge technologies to extract actionable intelligence from healthcare datasets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience leading engineering teams.
• 9+ years of experience building big data systems handling at-scale data ingestion, processing, and/or storage in AWS Stack.
• Strong understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex business requirements into a well-executed technical roadmap.
• Experience with data science platforms, machine learning infrastructure, data governance, and/or managing regulated data is preferred.
• Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to effectively translate complex data insights to non-technical audiences.
• A willingness to 'roll up your sleeves' and do whatever is necessary to ensure company success.
• Experience working in a rapidly evolving startup environment.
• Knowledge of healthcare data standards and regulations such as HIPAA and FHIR.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
