This is a Transportation Planning Intern position available for Summer 2026. The intern will support a variety of transportation planning and GIS tasks, learn basic principles of transportation planning, and assist with project research, field work, and preliminary analysis.
Requirements
- Actively enrolled in an accredited Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Engineering, or Geography degree, or related, Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2026 or later.
- Must be 18 or older.
- Demonstrated interest in Transportation Planning including Transit, eMobility, Bike and Ped, Circulation, Traffic Analysis, Grant Writing, Complete Sheets, Spatial Analysis, AI and emerging technologies, or related field, and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.
- Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a planning audience.
- Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, MS 365/Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite and ESRI ArcGIS, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
- Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.
- Experience with Public Communications, Outreach and Community Engagement.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.
