This position provides high-level technical assistance and guidance for mechanical engineering projects in the public and private sector. Responsibilities include research, design, development, building, testing, and inspecting of mechanical systems, as well as providing technical assistance on various engineering, design, and construction issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or closely related discipline
- 7 to 10 years of relevant post education experience in engineering discipline and prior mechanical design experience
- Engineer license required
- Proficient with mechanical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to project work-related issues
- Extensive knowledge of building and infrastructure design
- Experience with building and infrastructure planning, design, and construction management
- Well-defined knowledge with process and concepts for reducing and eliminating the use or generation of hazardous substances/greenhouse gas
- Well-defined specific knowledge of relevant mechanical engineering and construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements
- Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated high-level of self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment
- Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements
