Whatnot is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Trust and Risk team. The team is responsible for building systems that ensure Whatnot remains a safe and trustworthy place for buyers and sellers. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of software engineering experience and experience in Trust and Risk or Integrity or Fraud domains. They will design and develop systems to protect the platform, balance risk and user experience, and respond in real time to threats.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, or a related technical field
- 4+ years of software engineering experience building for consumer-scale loads
- 1+ years of experience writing production code in Python
- Experience in Trust and Risk or Integrity or Fraud domains preferred
- Business intuition and a data-driven mindset
- Obsession with impact and ability to drive value for users

- Ability to work autonomously and lead initiatives across multiple product areas
