Whatnot is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Merchant Tooling team. The team supports the needs of large and complex sellers on the platform, building systems to integrate with external tools and manage data synchronization. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of software development experience, a passion for scalability and data pipelines, and excellent product instincts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of generalist software development experience in high growth startups
- Experience building scalable systems
- Ability to work across the stack (backend and frontend)
- Excellent product instincts
- Proven track record of delivering features
- Ability to take ownership of an ambiguous area and define and then drive impact
- Ability to flexibly work across multiple workstreams
- Scalability and data pipeline experience with SQL, dbt, etc.
- Experience in Shopify, Channel Advisor, Magento, and other ecommerce SAAS products
- Experience in domain driven design
