French Canadian Linguist

Welocalize is seeking a French Canadian Linguist to perform quality control tasks, on-demand translation tasks, and linguistic lead functions on assigned projects. The successful candidate will have a university degree in Translation/Applied Languages or equivalent combination of education and experience, and 4+ years of relevant experience in the translation and localization industry.

Requirements

• University degree in Translation/Applied Languages or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 4+ years of relevant experience in the translation and localization industry
• Fluent in French Canadian (native level), both written and spoken, fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Excellent feel for language (source/target)
• Knowledge of terminology in the following subject matters IT consumer products, social media and entertainment
• Thorough understanding of the localization process
• Excellent user experience of standard software, such as Windows and Office applications and standard CAT tools
• Ability to learn new localization tools and applications quickly
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and translators
• Ability to work with tight deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Ability and willingness to train/teach others and pass on knowledge
• Ability to work in a virtual team
