Special Education Teacher, Cross Categorical Resource

This Special Education Teacher position involves providing direct instructional programs for students with disabilities, including monitoring IEPs, implementing instruction, and fostering a positive learning environment. The role requires collaboration with school staff, parents, and community agencies to support student success.

Requirements

• KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Extensive knowledge of instructional practices related to specially designed instruction.
• KNOWLEDGE of general content curriculum standards and age-appropriate developmental expectations.
• Considerable knowledge of state and federal policies and procedures overseeing the services of students with disabilities.
• Hold or be eligible for a North Carolina Professional Educator’s License in an Exceptional Children’s teaching area.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
• First Aid and CPR certifications (preferred).
