The Accountant I is responsible for the timely processing of Workday documents for the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and the Division of Comparative Medicine and for monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing processes.
Requirements
- Creation, data integrity, and/or department approval of various online documents (requisitions, purchase orders, travel documents, change orders, and invoices)
- Timely processing of all Workday documents according to closing schedules
- Responding to inquiries from departmental stakeholders, suppliers, and central processing areas
- Resolving issues as they arise
- Assisting with administrative general accounting and system-related projects
- Preparing various general ledger entries
- Reconciling, reporting, and analyzing various general ledger accounts
- Assisting with special projects such as the annual financial budgets
