Adjunct Faculty/Part Time (ESL)

Washington Adventist University is seeking candidates to expand its pool of adjunct faculty (part time) to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) courses.

Requirements

• Teach English courses – Conversation, Grammar, Reading and Writing for learners whose first language is not English.
• Prepare course outline and syllabus in accordance with guidelines, develop, course and lesson plans, and engage in the selection of textbooks and other teaching aids necessary to the instruction of courses
• Evaluate student performance
• Ability to work with students from other cultures and being sensitive to their learning need.
• Possess a positive and welcoming attitude towards students and be able to create a vibrant learning environment
• Possess excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Organize weekly co-curricular events for students: excursions, field trips, etc. in the DC area.
