Job Description
Verify is seeking a Mechanical Source Inspector to ensure compliance of products during manufacturing and final inspections. The role involves visual and dimensional inspections on parts and assemblies, validating documentation, and reporting issues. This is a field position based in multiple locations and requires both travel and local presence in the US.
Requirements
- Strong background in the manufacturing and inspection of mechanical parts and assemblies.
- Ability to determine adherence to blueprint specifications, GD&T, and workmanship standards.
- Experience checking close-tolerance parts produced from a wide range of materials.
- Proficient in the use of common inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
- Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with AS9102.
- Ability to review complete technical data packages and ensure full document traceability.
- Familiarity with inspection methods such as dimensional inspection, visual inspection, surface finish evaluation, and basic non-destructive testing (NDT).
- Knowledge of special processes (plating, heat treat, welding, coatings) and NADCAP requirements is preferred.
- Ability to interpret and apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) according to ASME Y14.5.
