The Counter Sales Representative plays a crucial role in supporting our purpose of creating value for those we serve by servicing our counter customers. This position works independently to ensure the preparation, delivery, receipt and coordination of all customer orders at the counter while delivering excellent customer service.
Requirements
- Service the business and industrial establishment customer as well as walk-in customer by providing projects or information on products or services
- Pick and prepare customer pipe and wire in an efficient and accurate manner
- Picks customer orders using an RF gun, motorized cart and/or forklift
- Build and maintain customer relationships
- Provide project demonstrations to qualified customers on request
- Maintain counter area, displays and stock levels in an orderly fashion
- Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own vendor’s production and delivery schedule
- Emphasize salable features, quote prices and credit terms, prepare sales orders for orders obtained
- Encourage creativity, risk-taking, and constant improvements
- Work side-by-side with the inside sales, and distribution teams to ensure quality customer service
