Biomedical Engineering Specialist

UW Health is seeking a Biomedical Engineering Specialist to diagnose and repair defective medical equipment in both shop and critical care settings, ensuring compliance with coding standards. The role involves preventative maintenance and assistance with new device implementation and workflow enhancements, alongside mentorship opportunities and referral bonus potential. This is a 100% FTE position based at University Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.

Requirements

• Diagnose defective medical equipment and implement repairs.
• Perform, coordinate, monitor, and supervise a preventative maintenance program.
• Determine practicality and cost-effectiveness of utilizing vendors or in-house staff.
• Assist with creating and conducting new device implementation, training, and workflow enhancements.
• Hold a valid license (required).
• Experience in Healthcare setting (3-8 years).
• Associate's Degree of Applied Science in HTM / Biomedical Engineering (or completion of DOD Biomedical Technician training).
