The Public Works Fleet Division is seeking a skilled Fleet Maintenance Technician to join the Fleet Services team. This position is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair services on all sizes of Unified Government-owned vehicles and equipment.
Requirements
- Perform maintenance and major repairs on gasoline and diesel engines, manual and automatic transmissions, differentials, brakes, suspension, electrical, fuel, cooling, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Perform chassis and suspension repairs, including alignments.
- Perform tire inspections, repairs, and replacements on automotive and equipment vehicles.
- Conduct automotive and equipment air conditioning service and repairs.
- Perform welding and fabricating functions as needed.
- Repair small engine equipment and components.
- Provide emergency road service, towing, and on-site repairs when required.
- Operate equipment as directed during emergency situations within Wyandotte County.
- Assist other technicians with complex repairs and special projects.
- Maintain and service car wash systems, fuel pumps, gates, and other Fleet-related equipment as assigned.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and departmental policies to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
- Perform related duties as required or directed by the supervisor.
