The Automation Engineer will provide technical design support for Vision and Automation Systems for our clients and will be responsible for various interactions with control systems. They will assist in different aspects of automation projects, such as design, documentation, implementation, training, validation, and more.
Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience or a combination of equivalent education and experience in automation and projects implementation
- Travel Requirement for this position involves approximately 40% of travel (it could be more or less), on average, and includes domestic and international travel
- Ability to understand P&ID drawings, network diagrams, panel layout drawings and electrical schematics
- Strong knowledge of ISO / OSHA / cGMP requirements and current industry practices is preferred
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience with Rockwell PLC and HMI software and hardware
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience with Cognex, and Keyence vision inspection systems
- Experience with Systech serialization Systems is preferred
- Experience with programming languages (C#, Visual Basic, Python, Java,) is preferred
- Experience with IQ, OQ, PQ process validation
- Automation standards experience (i.e. ISA, UL508A, ISO)
- Must have the physical requirements necessary to perform the essential duties of the position
- Able to work safely and follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Able to lift 2-20 pounds regularly, climb steps and ladders, and stand or walk for 2—3 hours
- Must possess the ability to multi-task
- Must possess the ability to work under pressure
- Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate and explore alternative solutions
- Ability to understand opposing points of view on highly complex issues and to negotiate and integrate different viewpoints
- Ability to compose letters, outlines, and basic reports and/or to orally communicate technical information
- Work in different shifts, extra time, including weekend depending on the nature of the work and/or business/client needs
