Job Description
Bowhead Transport Company is seeking a Mate to supervise and coordinate deck crew activities on vessels. This role involves ensuring safe operations, maintaining vessel integrity, overseeing cargo handling, ensuring compliance with regulations, and acting as a key leader in all aspects of vessel operations. The Mate serves as a vital link between the vessel master and the crew.
Requirements
- Must meet physical qualification standards.
- Capable of performing physically demanding shipboard duties in various environmental conditions.
- Strong verbal and writing communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Valid USCG rating and relevant endorsements.
- 3 years Arctic experience (or equivalent)
- Valid TWIC, STCW-95 endorsements, and Transport Worker Identification Credential.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Valid US Citizenship and a valid US Passport.
