Human Interactive Driving Intern – Localization and Mapping

Toyota Research Institute (TRI) is seeking a Research Intern for the 2026 summer season to develop techniques for high-performance driving. This hybrid, in-office role involves experiments on high-performance vehicles, contributing to advancements in vehicle safety and performance using machine learning, optimization, and control theory. The intern will collaborate with a team focused on advanced driving techniques.

Requirements

• Ph.D. candidate in a related field (robot perception, computer vision, robot learning, deep learning, etc.).
• Proficiency in Python, C++, ROS(2), Pytorch, CUDA, JAX.
• Familiarity in semantic mapping, SLAM, and foundation models.
• Experience in deploying algorithms on real-world platforms.
