Seasonal Maintenance Operator

The Town of Milton’s Operations Department is currently accepting applications for the contract position of Seasonal Maintenance Operator – Roads. Reporting to the Supervisor, Roads, the Seasonal Maintenance Operator supports daily activities of operational services within the division.

Requirements

• Assists with a variety of summer road maintenance and repair activities of roads, sidewalks, curbs, bridges/culverts, signs and stormwater infrastructure
• Performs debris and garbage pick up
• Performs traffic control and road patrol
• Performs hot/cold mix road maintenance activities
• Complies with all health and safety practices as it relates to the work, standard operating guidelines and the Occupational Health & Safety Act
• Performs all other duties as assigned in accordance with Department objectives
• Ensures all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is utilized and worn as per requirements
• Completes equipment work order forms as required
• Responds to customer inquiries according to established procedures and approved decision-making framework
• Maintains ongoing communication with internal staff and contractors to maintain a high level of efficiency and service
