HPC & Infrastructure Engineer

Tower Research Capital is a quantitative trading firm founded in 1998, building on a high-performance platform and independent trading teams. They are seeking an HPC & Infrastructure Engineer to design, support, and enhance their research infrastructure, including storage, networking, and cloud systems. The role involves collaborating with teams and contributing to global market access, data, and computation.

Requirements

• Assist in designing and supporting HPC and storage systems on-premises and in cloud clusters.
• Troubleshoot issues related to OS, storage, network, and other infrastructure components.
• Enhance the research infrastructure by exploring and deploying new technologies and methodologies.
• Work directly with trading teams to provide a fully integrated research platform for the company.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or related field.
• At least 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with distributed file systems such as NFS, Weka.
• Experience with job schedulers such as Slurm.
• Experience with cloud providers such as GCP or AWS.
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker / Podman, Kubernetes.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible, Terraform.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (e.g., TCP/IP protocol stack, Ethernet).
• Understanding of Linux kernel concepts (e.g., virtual memory, filesystems, CPU scheduling).
• Programming experience with languages such as Python, Perl, Shell.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong interest in tracking hardware/software technology trends.
