The Department of Behavioral Science at Touro University and University System is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor in Clinical Mental Health Counseling to join their growing program. This full-time position is effective July 1, 2026, and is expected to be active for 36.5 hours per week. The role involves teaching, research, and program oversight, contributing to both student development and department advancement.
Requirements
- Doctorate in counseling, counselor education, or related field
- Minimum of one full year of teaching in counseling (prior to July 1, 2013)
- Evidence of teaching graduate-level Mental Health Counseling Courses
- Evidence of clinical supervision experience
- Evidence of scholarship appropriate for the discipline and rank
- Knowledge/skills/abilities in technology and multicultural/urban education settings
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to think critically and solve problems
- Organizational and time management skills
- Experience with various Electronic Medical Record platforms
- Experience with CACREP standards and review process
- SPSS skills and data analysis knowledge
- Internet journal library and Google Scholar search experience
- Experience with various Electronic Medical Record platforms
- Experience with Experiential Learning Cloud (formerly Tevera)
- CASAC certification (preferred)
- Travel between meetings
