Naval Architect, SME (Structures)

THOR Solutions is seeking a highly motivated Naval Architect with experience designing structural and strength components for shipboard use to support the US Coast Guard’s Ship Design Team. This role involves technical support, analysis, design validation, and mentoring of junior naval architects. The position requires 10+ years of experience with designing structural and strength components, marine structural codes, and structural analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or a related field.
• At least 15 years of progressive experience in Naval Architecture.
• 1+ year of experience related to U.S. Federal or commercial ship or boat building acquisition programs.
• Proficiency with U.S. Federal or commercial ship design rules and regulations.
• Strong communications skills.
• Current US Department of Defense secret security clearance (or eligibility to obtain).
