Job Description
Thiess is seeking a Mine Engineer Supervisor to plan, implement, and monitor short-term mining operations in Sudbury, Ontario. The role involves design and scheduling of truck and excavator operations, geological support, safety management, and oversight of geological team. This position also includes providing geotechnical support and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Requirements
- Design and develop rolling weekly and 3 monthly equipment operation plans
- Manage the Mine’s geology team and lead for Geologists
- Incorporate all geotechnical recommendations
- Generate mine plans and schedules
- Ensure ore reserve estimates
- Conduct regular inspections
- Supervise maintenance of equipment reporting systems
- Provide advice on ore mining methodologies
- Comply with Occupational Health and Safety Act
