Job Description
This geriatric psychiatry program focuses on assessing and treating mental illnesses in adults over 65. Care is provided in collaboration with families, providers, and community agencies. The role involves improving quality of life and recovery for older adults with various dementias.
Requirements
- Graduate of recognized Diploma Program in Practical Nursing
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Knowledge of CNO Standards regarding RPN scope of practice
- Understanding of MHA and relevant legislation
- CPR/AED Certification within the last 2 years
- Completion of Prevention of Violence in the Workplace training (C.P.I.)
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Technical skills: glucometer reading, vital signs, injection skills, patient assessment/mental health assessment, etc.
- Ability to develop therapeutic relations
- Ability to function as a team member
- Basic computer skills
- English level A- required (A- in French)
- French level A- required
