Major Gift Officer, Northern California/Pacific Northwest

The Major Gift Officer plays a pivotal role in The Heritage Foundation's fundraising efforts, cultivating and engaging significant prospects to secure major gifts. This individual manages a portfolio of 90-120 six-figure prospects, responsible for building donor relationships, moving prospects through the fundraising process, and creating donor solicitations. The role involves collaboration with internal teams and external partners to achieve fundraising goals.

Requirements

• Manage and develop a prospect pool of 90‒120 major gift prospects.
• Initiate contact with potential major gift donors.
• Move potential donors toward solicitation and closure.
• Maintain stewardship contacts with donors, adhering to the highest ethical standards.
• Prepare and present major gift proposals.
• Understand popular planned giving vehicles.
• Travel extensively, as needed.
