Non-Profit Executive Director

The 5 Gyres Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to combating plastic pollution. They are seeking a visionary Executive Director to lead the organization's strategic vision, raise funding, build partnerships, and foster scientific integrity. This role requires a blend of leadership, fundraising, scientific expertise, and stakeholder management to drive impactful change.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in plastic pollution, environmental advocacy, or related fields.
• Entrepreneurial vision with a track record of scaling organizations.
• Proven fundraising success.
• Demonstrated ability to forge partnerships.
• Experience working with boards of directors.
• Strong capacity to translate complex scientific and policy concepts.
• Financial acumen.
• Strongly preferred: Scientific background or training, crisis communications experience, travel requirements.
• Up to 40% travel within domestic and international scope
