Job Description
Texas Health Action (THA) is seeking a Bilingual Patient Advocate to enhance the patient experience in a diverse, LGBTQIA+ community. This role involves one-on-one sessions with patients to understand their healthcare options, navigating insurance, and providing support for services like HIV care, PrEP/PEP, and holistic health. THA operates in multiple Texas locations and offers virtual care options.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a social science or public health discipline.
- 2+ years of experience with HIV counseling and testing, or case management experience.
- 2+ years of experience working with diverse populations, including LGBTQIA+ and communities of color.
- Basic PC skills (Microsoft Office suite).
- Understanding of HIPAA and confidentiality.
- Fluency in English and Spanish.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
