Job Description
TeleWorld Solutions is seeking a Field Technician to deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot advanced networking and optical systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Ciena products and a customer-focused mindset.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a similar field technician role, ideally with exposure to Ciena equipment
- Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
- Hands on experience with Ciena 5164 Transport Router
- Proficiency with Ciena systems, including the 6500 Packet-Optical Platform and WaveLogic technology
- Familiarity with optical transport technologies (DWDM, ROADM, SONET) and Layer 2/3 networking protocols
- Hands-on experience with RF and optical testing tools such as OTDR, spectrum analyzers, and light meters
- Basic scripting knowledge (Python, Bash) is a plus
- Relevant certifications such as Ciena Certified, CFOT (Certified Fiber Optic Technician) or CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) are preferred
