Job Description
Grupo Téciman seeks a Geospatial Data Scientist / Urban Data Analyst to develop advanced geographic data analyses for urban and territorial areas, collaborating with technical and business teams, and participating in geospatial data architecture definition and evolution.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Geography, Data Science, or other related disciplines.
- Demonstrable experience in geographic data science or geospatial analytics applied to urban or territorial environments.
- Solid knowledge of SQL and Python for spatial data treatment (GeoPandas, Shapely, PySAL, or similar libraries).
- Proficiency in geospatial tools such as GDAL/OGR, PostGIS, QGIS, or GRASS GIS.
- Experience working in Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery GIS, notebooks, data pipelines).
- Knowledge of spatial modeling, territorial analysis, and urban indicators.
- Experience working with complex and large datasets.
- Technical knowledge of spatial grids (especially H3), spatial autocorrelation, MAUP, and spatial bias adjustments.
- High analytical capacity, critical thinking, and autonomy in managing analytical projects end-to-end.
