Actuary I - Remote

Join Symetra as an Actuary I and lead the Network Evaluation section of the Actuarial Stop Loss Pricing team. Manage a team of two direct reports, partner with Sales and Underwriting teams, and improve processes for reporting, documentation, and transparency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with strong quantitative background including college level mathematics
• 5+ years of insurance related actuarial experience required
• ASA required, must be pursuing or finished with FSA credential
• Stop Loss, reinsurance, or healthcare experience a plus
• Prior management experience preferred
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills
• Highly skilled in PC utilization including spreadsheets, data management software, and actuarial modeling software
• Basic knowledge of Python and SQL
• Advanced knowledge of actuarial concepts and assumptions used for modeling, pricing, and financial reporting
• Able to solve complex actuarial problems independently in a multi-dimensional context
• Commitment to professional development and advancing industry knowledge
