Job Description
The Harm Reduction Specialist provides engagement and support services related to drug and alcohol use, sexual health, and self-harm, employing a harm reduction model. This role focuses on meeting individuals where they are at, offering non-coercive services, providing consultation, and contributing to a company-wide commitment to harm reduction. The Specialist will act as a leader promoting Community Access’ values in providing services.
Requirements
- Understand and embrace the company’s philosophy and mission of Services for the UnderServed (S:US) and harm reduction.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent and a Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum two years of experience working within a harm reduction model.
- Solid understanding of harm reduction principles.
- Ability to transfer knowledge and skills.
- Fingerprinted and cleared by the New York State Justice Center.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Initiative and responsibility.
