Job Description
Summit Pathology is looking for a Part Time Lab Assistant/Specimen Accessioner to work in a fast-paced laboratory setting. The position involves specimen receiving, data entry, and quality control, with opportunities to work with a team of pathologists and laboratory staff.
Requirements
- Specimen receiving and data entry
- Assessing specimen quality and preparing for processing
- Accuracy in identification and accessioning
- Quality control of completed requisitions
- Filing of slides and blocks
- Handling and troubleshooting of tissue processors
- Answering phones and triaging phone calls
- Working with clients to address discrepancies
- Maintaining knowledge and skills through continuing education
- Following safety standards and reporting unsafe equipment
