The Medical Director is responsible for leadership, quality assurance, oversight and overall medical management of the hospital within the boundaries of state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) supplemented by the completion of psychiatric residency training required.
- One or more years’ post graduate degree practice preferred.
- Previous experience in behavioral health or substance use disorder treatment preferred.
- Current license to practice medicine, by the state in which the facility(s) operate.
- Board certification or certificate of admissibility for board certification in a behavioral health specialty.
- Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
- CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
- First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
