The Law Library Assistant is part of the team that oversees the Law Library's Circulation/Reserve Department, providing library services to patrons and collaborating with the Circulation Manager on projects and services.
Requirements
- BA/BS, or equivalent required
- Current enrollment in an accredited program for a Master's degree in Library & Information Science or equivalent is preferred
- Strong written and oral communication skills required
- Strong computer skills, including expertise with Office 365 applications, particularly Excel, Teams, and Outlook, required
- Keen attention to detail, strong time management and analytical skills required
- Must be able to work both independently on assigned projects and as part of a team
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds, push full book carts, and bend and reach to retrieve and shelve books
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service and ability to handle difficult situations required
- Previous experience with outreach initiatives and using Canva preferred
- Previous library experience, especially with Sierra, ILLiad, and/or SpringShare applications preferred
- Creative, proactive candidates preferred
- Supervisory experience and/or experience working with student workers preferred
