Job Description
As a Truck Loader at Steel Technologies, you’ll be trained to safely operate an overhead crane and/or forklift to move and transport material to and from storage areas and workstations.
Requirements
- Select material for shipment from shipping/receiving documentation
- Operate forklift and/or overhead crane to transport materials to and from storage areas and workstations
- Load, unload, and stack materials in accordance with established procedures
- Maintain up-to-date forklift certification and/or crane training
- Pull and compare inventory tags and ensure accuracy of load
- Monitor loading process and ensure proper signing of shipping paperwork
- Communicate non-compliance problems to supervisor and/or shift lead
- Housekeeping and cleaning of truck docks and storage area
- Retain loading requirements and schedule flow of carriers in and out of loading area
