Job Description
Steampunk is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to develop enterprise-grade data platforms, services, and pipelines. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and customer service skills, a passion for data, and experience in cloud-based data warehousing solutions (preferably AWS or Azure). The role involves architectural work, ETL jobs, data pipeline management, and support for an Agile software development lifecycle.
Requirements
- 5-7 years industry experience coding commercial software
- 5-7 years experience in Data Engineering
- Experience with Big data tools (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.)
- Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases (Postgres, Cassandra)
- Experience with cloud services (EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift, or equivalent)
- Experience with data streaming systems (Storm, Spark-Streaming)
- Experience with object-oriented programming languages (Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc.)
- Experience with message queuing, stream processing, and 'big data' data stores.
