Transportation Planner Engineer

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the planning, design, and management of transportation projects that connect communities. The Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering (TPTE) group focuses on multi-modal transportation solutions, providing comprehensive planning, engineering, and infrastructure management services. The position involves working on a variety of projects, providing guidance to junior staff, and ensuring technical accuracy and regulatory compliance. Requirements

• Responsible for planning, conducting and coordinating technical aspects of assigned projects and tasks
• Uses knowledge of the general and technical concepts of transportation planning, transportation modelling and traffic engineering
• Conducts transportation planning and traffic analyses, with an emphasis on contributing in traffic engineering and transportation modelling capacity
• Obtains traffic, GIS and land use data, prepares technical reports, performs calculations, and conducts various transportation studies
• Coordinates with clients, regulatory/resource agencies, and local governments
• Provides initial quality assurance and quality control for technical products
• Assists in coordinating with clients/consultants in resolving technical project issues
• Performs due diligence and research on projects as required to provide the background information to start a new project
• Assists with the preparation of proposals, project reporting and other marketing endeavors
