Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and discreet Legal Counsel to support our team at Standard Chartered Bank in New York. The successful candidate will provide expert and strategic legal advice to management on a wide range of banking and corporate topics.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor or other equivalent Legal degree
- Admitted to practice law in New York State preferred
- Banking/Finance Law experience is a nice to have
- Ability to identify legal risk relevant to the applicable businesses, services and documentation
- Deep expertise in a specialized area (contracts, compliance, corporate law)
- Strong leadership/mentorship, strategic thinking, exceptional communication
- Proven ability to manage complex transactions and guide senior leadership in dynamic environments
- Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates and the regulatory requirements relevant to the Americas region
