An operations technician is primarily responsible for the operation and maintenance of the power plant on a 24/7 – 365 basis, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing the plant's electrical and mechanical equipment, utilizing a computerized work order management system (Maximo®) and other common programs.
Requirements
- Previous power plant experience is preferred.
- Combined Cycle Operations experience preferred.
- Electrical Troubleshooting experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment is required.
- Previous Operations Experience a plus.
- Instrumentation experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication, problem solving, and team skills required.
- Must be able to handle complex, pressure situations and be adaptable to a changing work environment.
- Must be able to support a 24/7 schedule, including holidays.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with work management software (Maximo®) preferred.
- Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and able to organize work with minimal supervision.
- Must successfully pass the TECH test.
- Must be able to pass the Ops Tech test to progress to a fully qualified Operations Technician.
