As a Mechatronics Engineer at Smarter Alloys, your primary goal is to design, build and test electro-mechanical devices and implement automation across our various projects.
Requirements
- Design, build, and test electromechanical devices using programmable shape memory alloy (SMA) technology
- Design and integrate sensors, feedback control and data acquisition systems (DAQ) on lab prototypes, testing and manufacturing equipment
- Design and build automation systems, jigs, fixtures and setups for enhancement of new and existing equipment
- Develop advanced automated manufacturing methods and processes for high volume production
- Design and setup circuits and electronics for project prototypes
- Write and implement software programs for setups and project prototypes
- Support procurement and commissioning of equipment and components
- Troubleshoot open-ended problems in prototyping and design
- Solve problems of varying nature and complexity
- Assist in the development of novel SMA sensing techniques
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to integrate mechatronics in various SMA systems
