As a Buyer at Serta Simmons Bedding, you will perform daily buying of raw materials, work with Plant management to identify discrepancies, and oversee the receiving dock. You will also foster a positive work environment, handle issues with receivers, and implement safety policies and training.
Requirements
- Knowledge of materials systems (Kanban, Cycle Counting, inventory and receiving processes)
- Lean manufacturing
- Root cause analysis (5 Why analysis, cause and effect diagrams)
- Auditing (execution, reporting, corrective action)
- Organized and Logical/Process Thinking
- Strong communicator (written, verbal, presentation)
- Results oriented/Sense of Urgency
- Ability to lead and direct others
- Detail orientation, good figure/mathematical aptitude with strong quantitative and analytical skills and ability to work accurately with details.
- Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work without close supervision; ability to effectively handle multiple projects with track record of successful project completion; and ability to work positively under pressure.
