Job Description
Material handling, packaging, and cleaning equipment. Responsible for following written and verbal work instructions. Experience required. Operates traveling or stationary overhead crane to lift, move, and position steel loads within the production facility.
Requirements
- Observe load hookup and determine the safety of the load.
- Manipulates or depresses crane control buttons, to regulate the speed and direction of crane and hoist movement.
- Uses hoisting attachments such as hook, sling, or bucket as load requires.
- Cleans and maintains a crane and hoisting mechanism.
- Inspects crane for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions.
- Assist with training newly hired Material Handler I
