Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Geography team at the National Records of Scotland. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining postcode and address management systems, developing geographic products and boundaries, and providing recommendations and outputs in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Maintain internal systems using FME, Python, and GIS
- Produce complex geospatial and geo-statistical analysis
- Bring multiple data sources together in a conformed model for analysis
- Design, build, and test data products
- Select and implement appropriate technologies
- Investigate the use of tools for storing and working with meta data
- Respond to problems in databases, data processes, and data products
- Use agreed standards and tools to design, code, test, correct, and document programs and scripts
- Review requirements and specifications and define test conditions
- Engage with the DDaT specialist community
