Job Description
Sana is building affordable health plans for small and midsize businesses, combining primary care with expert navigation. They are seeking a Senior Underwriter to manage underwriting operations for a small group health segment, focusing on pricing and renewal strategy. The role requires close collaboration with Revenue, Actuaries, and Product teams to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- 4+ years of underwriting experience, ideally with a focus on small groups and/or level-funded products
- Strong data analysis skills (Excel, SQL, Mode, Tableau, etc.)
- Excellent understanding of health insurance pricing, risk assessment, and underwriting best practices
- Comfortable taking calculated risks in a fast-evolving startup environment
- Outstanding communication skills in person, over the phone, in writing, via email, chat, carrier pigeon, etc.
